Understanding Judicial Terrorism®

When the Judicial System Becomes an Avenue for Continued Abuse

For some survivors, separation does not end the abuse. An abuser may use court filings, discovery, financial pressure, parenting disputes, and prolonged litigation to maintain power and control over their victim long after the relationship has ended and the parties have separated.

Victims’ Safe Harbor Foundation works to increase awareness of Judicial Terrorism® and the ways coercive control can continue through the judicial system.
